     DROMOLAND CASTLE
     HOTEL & SPA

A Remarkable Retreat With An Easy Elegance. Your Gateway To Ireland’s Riches. Designed For Indulgence & Relaxation. Anything Is Possible At Dromoland...

I had the pleasure of visiting the Dromoland Castle and Spa on various occasions by offering my Spa consultancy services for the wonderful  Spa team led by Kerry Kelly, and as I settled into the estate, I learned its fascinating history.

Dating back to the 17th century, Dromoland Castle is a grand fortress of turrets and towers set beside a scenic lake, and was formerly the ancestral home of the O’Briens, Barons of Inchiquin, one of the few native Gaelic families of royal blood, until it was bought by American Bernard P. McDonough in 1962. It has since then been converted for use as a luxury hotel. Dromoland Castle Hotel is a member of Historic Hotels Worldwide.

The estate takes up 410 acres of stunningly green, beautiful and unspoiled woods and parkland. Tye estate includes 97 spacious guest-rooms, including 14 suites. With sumptuous furnishings, exquisite bathrooms, relaxing colour schemes, inviting beds and beautiful views, each meticulously refurbished room celebrates our Irish heritage while exceeding your sense of expectation.

At a Glance: This grand castle property is a perfect way to get away from it all, while taking in the stunning views of the scenic lake and surrounding countryside.

From the imposing baronial façade to our startling interiors, you’ll find a world of historic grandeur underpinned by the finest modern comforts. With lavish decor, indulgent dining, fabulous views and magnificent bedrooms, this is a place to feel at home.

WHAT SETS THEM APART -

The Dromoland 18-hole parkland golf course, designed by Brook L. Wigginton, winds around Lake Dromoland. Golfers are accompanied on the course by meadowlarks and pheasants.

In addition to golf and falconry, guests can go clay shooting on the property, play tennis, cycle using the castle’s complimentary mountain bikes, practice archery, and fish in the lake, and enjoy the superb restaurant. You can feel the royal touch in the formal Earl of Thomond restaurant with its oak wainscoting, and in the cocktail bar formerly the baron’s study. The restaurant features locally sourced produce and customized fine wine recommendations by the knowledgeable sommeliers.
